Work-flow woes

I’m trying to figure out the smoothest workflow to get my content where I want it to be in the least number of steps.

I’ve been using Posterous to post photos from my iPhone, because it sends the pictures here and to Facebook, and a link to Twitter.

But even though the photos post here fine, I still have to manually add the thumbnails that appear on the front page of the site. Extra step. Plus the pageviews go there, not here. I want your eyeballs here damnit!

What I really want is for the photos to appear here, thumbnails already attached, and in Facebook, and linked out to Twitter with the link preferably coming back here instead of to Posterous.

Doesn’t sound that difficult, but for now, it sort of is.

I think the best workflow for photos looks like iPhone -> WordPress app -> here -> Twitter (via Twitter Tools plugin) then send the feed to Facebook. Sorry, Posterous :(. (edit: something’s wonky with the FB feed importer, so it looks like I’ll also have to upload with the Facebook app. Bother.)

Videos are even more annoying- no easy way to post them so the video will actually appear here (rather than just as a link to Posterous) from my phone. I can upload them to Flickr or YouTube and grab the embed code I guess? Not a big deal but not exactly the “in the moment” solution I want.

And then there’s Audioboo, my preferred app for posting with audio (you know, when I eventually start doing that again…) I can send that to Posterous then it will come here- as a link? Embedded?

Feh, so complicated!

Any suggestions? Am I missing something?

Exactly the reason I used Posterous to mobile blog for only ONE Disney trip and then abandoned the idea. The page views go THERE.

I’m sticking with Flickr for mobile blogging my photos and video. I don’t have a solution for audio or for Facebook. I think if Flickr did audio, I would send audio files more often. And I hope someday Flickr will allow a separate email address to post to Facebook, same as we currently have for Twitter.

I’m not really happy with the Yahoo Updates thing because it doesn’t see like I can send things through it to Facebook selectively – it seems all-in to me. Anyhow, I haven’t found nirvana yet on this issue but I’m hopeful!

I actually miss Utterz, (Utterli, whatever…) I didn’t use it much but when I did it just worked.
