“A truck on a steep slope can lose its brakes or otherwise lose control resulting in a serious accident. An example of this problem is the steep section of Warrenville Road between Route 22 in Green Brook and Mountain Boulevard in Warren, New Jersey. The hill has been the site of numerous serious accidents in which trucks have gone down the hill out of control and hit other vehicles or overturned. Although the hill has [LOTS OF] signs [FOR MILES BEFORE YOU GET THERE AS WELL AS FLASHING LIGHTS] posted to warn truckers of the four ton weight limit and the steep slope, the section of road averages at least one crash per week.” (from a statement to the NJ Legislature [with comments from me].)
This guy realized he was in the wrong place and while it was annoying to wait for him to make a u-turn at Greenbriar I’m glad he didn’t do what others have done and just risk it.
